DOTD is confirming that a photo showing a large crack in one of the columns attached to the Calcasieu River Bridge in Lake Charles is fake.
The photo has been shared thousands of times on Facebook.
A department spokesperson tells KPLC today, “I spoke with the lead bridge inspector, and there’s no crack on the I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge like the one in that photo.”
A KPLC reporter also took a picture of the bridge to compare the two photos and to show there’s no such damage.
