GRAND COTEAU – Organizers with the 7th Annual Sweet Dough Pie Festival are deeming today’s event a success.
They tell KATC the pies had sold out by noon.
The event, which took place on the grounds of St. Charles Borromeo Church, offered more than just consuming sweet dough pies.
There was food from local restaurants, arts and crafts from over 100 vendors, and the contest for best pie.
Narrated trolley tours allowed festivalgoers to get a look at the church and its cemetery and some Catholic schools in the area.
Once in the cemetery, characters from Grand Coteau past greeted those on the tour.
Proceeds from the Sweet Dough Pie Festival will go to the nonprofit Grand Coteau Cultural Foundation.
