The 17th Annual Games of Acadiana benefiting Miles Perret Cancer Services will be Saturday, August 18th Opening Ceremonies starting at 10am. The event will be held at the Cajundome and Cajundome Convention Center.

Each year Games of Acadiana begins with Opening Ceremonies where all cancer survivors are invited to take a short victory walk from the back of the Convention Center to the front while the crowd cheers. Survivor registration begins at 9:00am in Convention Center lobby. After the National Anthem, there’s a brief prayer and announcement of honorees, then the games begin!

The event is free, but you can still make donations to the Miles Perret Cancer Services organization at the event. Anyone can play! There’s no minimum or maximum age to participate. There are a few games with age, height, and/or weight restrictions. Strollers are allowed.

Find out more about this event and other services they offer at www.milesperret.org and their Facebook Page.
