Youngsville is in the International spotlight right now at they host the Mustang World Series Baseball Tournament.

Teams from around the world are at the Youngsville Sports Complex competing for the title of 2018 Mustang World Series Champions.

The opening ceremonies for the Mustang World Series kicked off at the Youngsville Sports Complex early Friday evening.

The World Series is the grand championship for the PONY league which stands for Protect Our Nation’s Youth.

It’s designed to take little league baseball players ten and younger from the smaller diamond to regulation-sized diamond.

Earlier this week KATC spotlighted The Wildcats from the Philippines, who are competing in America for the first time.

They should be tough competition because they’ve been practicing for five hours a day in preparation for the championship.

We also spoke to a parent from the Medina Valley Panthers which are based out of the small town of Castroville outside of San Antonio, Texas.

They won four tournaments and only lost one game all summer to qualify for the Mustang World Series.

"This is something that we did not expect of them. They’ve come out and every game of every day worked hard, and here we are. They’re living their dream. They’ll remember this for a lifetime," said Panthers Baseball Mom, Sarah Haby.
