Farmers were able to get a firsthand look at new equipment, programs and the latest crop status.
Officials from the USDA and the LSU AG Center hosted a sugarcane conference this morning.
Farmers were invited to stop by to talk about the crop and to take a look at farm equipment that was on display.
"We’ve been looking at this stuff," said Blair Hebert, LSU Ag Center. "Now, we’re getting it into the hands of some of the farmers and putting it in real-world situations. Hopefully, we can figure out this big puzzle and this riddle where we can do some things that are good for the environment, do some things that are good for the soil, and still stay profitable and have a good farming operation."
