A Ville Platte inmate who escaped from the city jail is back in custody. Chief Neal Lartigue says Kenneth Perkins Jr was being transported to the city jail on misdemeanor charges earlier this month when he allegedly shoved the deputy and escaped. Perkins is also accused of stealing a bicycle while trying to escape.
Perkins is now facing additional charges of escape, theft, and battery on a correction officer.
