NEW IBERIA, La. – Waitr is expanding its service to New Iberia. The delivery service begins this week with the official launch set for Thursday, July 12. The Waitr app lets you order from a restaurant then sends a Waitr driver to deliver it to you for a flat fee of $5.
Since launching in Lake Charles and Lafayette in 2015, Waitr has quickly grown to serve more than 200 cities across nine states in the South, including numerous Louisiana municipalities. It currently boasts more than 5,000 restaurant partners and already has more than one million users, and restaurants joining forces with Waitr see an average increase in overall business by 18 percent.
Dozens of New Iberia restaurants have already signed with Waitr, including Clementine on Main, LA Pizza Mia, El Paso Mexican Grill, Olympus Greek & Lebanese, and Kobe Japan. Many more are expected to be added in the coming weeks.
"The New Iberia community and restaurant owners saw the excitement and success of our food delivery in Louisiana and wanted to be part of it," said Whitney Savoie, Market Development Director for Waitr. "We’re thrilled we can now meet that demand here."
To celebrate Waitr’s expansion in New Iberia, the company will be hosting a launch party at El Paso Mexican Grill on Thursday, July 12 at 5:00 p.m. El Paso Mexican Grill is located at 816 East Admiral Doyle Drive in New Iberia. Waitr is encouraging everyone to come out and be part of the launch and meet the local team. Attendees at the free party can expect tasty appetizers and cool "swag" items to take home with them.
