Over the weekend, deputies with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office seized Heroin that tested positive for the presence of the drug Fentanyl.
Two of the deputies who worked the case began exhibiting symptoms of exposure to Fentanyl, and they were taken to a hospital where they were treated and released.
On Saturday, deputies responded to the 300 block of Breezy Lane in Youngsville regarding a man who was not responding. Medical aid was administered to the man, and he was transported to a hospital for further treatment.
Further investigation led to the discovery of approximately one gram of heroin inside the home.
Last week, an officer in Houston was treated for Fentanyl exposure.
