After hours of deliberating, the Vermilion Parish School Board and the Attorney General’s office ended a meeting to discuss an incident where a teacher was arrested during a school board meeting.
Attorney General Jeff Landry is suing the school board saying they were in violation of the open meetings law when he says members attempted to stop a public debate.
The arrest happened after Deysahia Hargrave , a Vermilion Parish teacher, questioned the pay raise of Superintendent Jerome Puyau .   In the lawsuit Landry is also asking that all actions taken at the meeting in question be nullified, including the approval of Puyau’s raise.   No decision was made at today’s meeting.
