New Iberia Police are investigating a complaint of shots fired near St. Mary Street, a spokesman said.
No one was hurt, he said.
An officer was about a block away when the shots were reported. Police found several casings on the ground, and a few homes were struck by bullets, he said.
Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 364-TIPS.
