The Lafayette Parks and Recreation Department is wrapping up its week of community activities.
The department held its annual Kids Carnival at Girard Park this morning.
The children were able to go down water slides, eat snacks and take part in other events with their families.
"It encourages us and lets us know our jobs done well, that people are enjoying the park," said Greg Garbarino, Recreation Coordinator, Lafayette Parish. "And they also share with us what they want more in the parks and how we can improve the parks and share their opinions. And it makes parks and recreation a better parks and recreation department."
