New Iberia officials say that two streets in the city will close temporarily for road repairs.

The Northbound lane of Hopkins Street from Washington to St. Peter will close to traffic for seven days. The closure began on June 27. Motorists are asked to be wary of construction signs and use alternate routes when traveling.

BNSF Railway Company announced that repairs will be made to the rails at it’s Corinne Street intersection. That construction will begin on Thursday, July 5 from 7:00 am until work is complete.
All work is subject change pending any unforeseen weather circumstances.
