A video production crew is in Lafayette his week to shoot footage for a planned video series about Louisiana tourism.

The Louisiana Office of Tourism and Brand USA, the United States’ destination marketing organization established by Congress in 2010, are paying for the work.

This week, the production crew will be capturing some of Louisiana’s most iconic destinations, its hidden gems, and the state’s musical heritage for a video series promoting Louisiana as a desirable destination to international markets around the world.

"We are who we are, we are very true to our roots, we don’t fake anything," says Jesse Guidry, vice president of communications at Lafayette Travel. "What you see is what you get. From the food to the culture, to the dancing, to the festivals, that’s us. We’ve always carved our own paths, done things our own way and i think people really respond to that sense of heritage and those roots here."

Other locations that will be filmed this week include Alexandria, Lake Charles, and the Northshore as well as the music scenes in Baton Rouge and New Orleans.
