The members of the newly re-formed New Iberia Police Department were sworn in today.
The ceremony happened this afternoon on the steps of City Hall.
The New Iberia Police Department was disbanded years ago, and since that time the city has had a contract with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office for law enforcement in the city.
The Police Department will be back up and running on July 1.
