An Opelousas father has donated his kidney to his son.
Yesterday, we told you about Jeremiah Jenkins and his son, 6-year-old JJ. JJ was born with a condition that damaged his kidneys permanently, leaving him with a need for a transplant. Luckily, his dad was a match.
The surgery was completed today, said Frannie Soignier Hoffman, JJ’s kindergarten teacher.
JJ’s surgery was complete around 3 p.m. and he will be in ICU for several days, Hoffman said.
