Iberia government reminds residents of incoming law enforcement changes

The Iberia Parish Government is reminding those within the parish of the change in law enforcement agencies beginning next month. 

In New Iberia, starting at 6:00 a.m. July 1, 2018, the New Iberia Police Department will begin working within the City of New Iberia, replacing the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office responsibilities in Iberia Parish, but outside the City of New Iberia, will not change. The role of 911 in Iberia Parish will also remain unchanged. Those living in the parish should still dial 911 for an emergency. 

For non-emergency calls to Police Departments and the Sheriff’s Office, Iberia government has provided the numbers below:
