LPSS officials found a summer school student in possession of an unloaded air gun, a spokesman confirmed.
The child was attending middle school summer classes at LJ Alleman, CAO Joe Craig said. Two children, both 5th graders, are being disciplined in the incident.
No one was injured. The item is not a firearm, Craig said.
The investigation is still underway, and LPSS is working with Lafayette Police, he said.
