Lake Charles police seeking two for shooting of elderly man

Lake Charles Police are asking for help in finding two people accused of shooting a 73-year-old man at his house. 

Police were called to the Guy Street home on June 8 after three people went into the home and shot the man several times. They robbed him of some cash, and fled, police said. The man is recovering at a local hospital, police said. 

Detectives identified Mildred Goodly, 25, and Sidney Bland, 32, as suspects in the case. 

A warrant has been issued for both of them on charges of attempted first-degree murder, armed robbery and armed robbery with a firearm.

Goodly’s last known address was on East 12th Street in Lake Charles.

Bland’s last known address was on East Town Drive in Iowa. 

Detectives are still trying to identify the third suspect, the spokesman said.

The suspects should be considered armed and dangerous, police said. 

Any person caught haboring or helping these suspects elude police could be arrested and booked with a crime, police said.

The responding officer in the case was Officer Bennon Dougay. The lead investigators are Detective Willie Fontenot and Detective Sergeant Franklin Fondel.
