Anglers in Abbeville are fishing for memories while raising funds for Alzheimer’s disease research.
The annual fishing rodeo started midnight Thursday with nightly weigh-ins each evening at the Abbeville Harbor and Terminal.
Winners receive cash prizes in 16 saltwater categories, including both inshore and offshore fish.
The event concludes today with a live auction and awards ceremony.
Aside from some friendly competition, Fishing for Memories hopes to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s disease while supporting those living with the disease and their caregivers.
