A group of homeschool students in Lafayette is working to solve real-world problems with robotics.

The group Team Phoenix won an award in the WorldFest in Houston for their research.

Students working in the program are ages 9 to 14.

"It was just really cool to meet people from all over the world and just see how they approach the same problems that we approached. And, it was just a great experience, and we won first place in the research category," said freshman Aaron Williams.
