Memorial services have been set in Lafayette for a mother and son killed in a St. Tammy parish crash.

Services for Keland and Yolanda Simmons will be held next Saturday, June 9, 2018, at Good Hope Baptist Church in Lafayette.

The crash happened on Saturday, May 26, 2018. Four people, including Keland and his mother, were killed.

Yolanda Simmons and Keland Simmons, both of Baton Rouge have ties to Lafayette. Keland Simmons attended SLCC in Lafayette and was a professional MMA fighter.

In an interview with KATC, members of the Gladiator Academy in Scott say that Keland was a great friend and even better martial artist. He went by the name "The Power Ranger" and his coaches say he always wanted to make sure that everyone was focused but also having fun at the same time.

"I will always remember his smile and the way he made people feel, not just himself but the people around him. He was an incredible guy," says former coach Timothy Credeur.

A GoFundMe page has been set up by the family. You can help donate here.
