Members of fallen Army Spc. Christopher M. Harris’ unit joined together on May 29 to honor him and participate in a very special photo shoot.

The photo shoot was for Harris’ two-month-old daughter that, according to CNN, Harris never had a chance to meet. Harris was killed in August 2017 while serving in Afganistan, just a few days after learning that his wife Britt Harris was pregnant.

Harris’ unit, the 82nd Airborne Division, has been involved throughout Britt Harris’ pregnancy. Even revealing the gender of the baby back in October via a video and pink confetti cannons.

Harris’ wife gave birth to their daughter Christian Harris on March 17 and, according to CNN, began planning a moment for the soldiers to meet the baby.

On May 29 Britt Harris coordinated a photo shoot at Cape Fear Botanical Garden with the soldiers saying it was important to her that Christian is able to look back and see the love the men and women of Harris’ unit had for her.

Throughout the photo shoot now two-month-old Christian wears her fathers dog tags and the soldiers take turns holding her. Her onesie reads "My Daddy’s my hero" with her father’s name underneath.

The family is from North Carolina.
