State police have identified the woman killed in Friday afternoon’s crash on I-49 near Opelousas.

Troopers say Hannah Vincent, 24, of Rayne, died at the scene.

Investigators say Vincent’s car ran off the southbound interstate and struck an unoccupied car. Vincent’s car then crossed the median and hit a northbound 18-wheeler head-on.  According to investigators, Vincent was not wearing a seat belt.

The driver of the 18-wheeler suffered minor injuries. A pedestrian attending to the unoccupied vehicle was struck by debris and sustained moderate injuries.

Vincent was an agriculture teacher at Opelousas High School.  Sources tell KATC that Vincent had been working at school on an off day before the crash.
