The Jena Times Olla-Tullos-Urania Signal has reported that the worker who died Thursday in an explosion at the Pineville Procter and Gamble plan is a well-known local man.
The newspaper identifies the victim as William Allen Kendrick. The newspaper reports that he was a supporter of the arts, active in parish choral and theater groups, and a past band director at the local high school.
Kendrick was killed at about 3 a.m. Thursday at the plant when a piece of equipment he was driving exploded. Six others were injured, then treated and released from a local hospital. The State Fire Marshal and OSHA are on scene investigating the incident. To read our story, click here.
