Next school year some high school students in Jeff Davis Parish will participate in the Truth, Facts, and Lies program.
The premise of the program, which was recently approved by the school board, is to focus on the daily issues that teens face during their formative years. The seven-class curriculum will cover subjects like bullying and human trafficking. Students from Lake Arthur and Welsh high schools will take part in the program beginning next school year.
High School students in Calcasieu Parish already participate in the program.
Around 40 students will be chosen from each school to participate in the program. The school board says that those wanting more information can do so at program presentations at each school’s Parent’s Night. Parents can learn more online at truthfactslies.org .
