Schilling Distributing hosted a Golf Tournament to raise money for the Veterans Memorial planned at Moncus Park today.
The event was held at The Wetlands Golf Course.
The hope is to raise enough to include the Veterans Memorial in the first Phase of Construction, but organizers are still shy of the total amount needed.
"Freedom is not free, we need people to fight for this country, be ready to fight for this country," said organizer Herbert Schilling. "So veterans are not only people that went to war, they may have served 20 years and because of their presence, we didn’t go to war and we’ve got to be thankful for those veterans too."
