The Louisiana House has voted to advance a measure to pay for state projects including one for the Girl Scouts Louisiana East.

The legislation was advanced Wednesday on a vote of 87-3 and would fund state projects for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2018,according to the Advocate.

Last week, the project for the Girl Scouts was left out of a Capital Outlay budget hearing after a clerical error marked the submission form as late.

The Girl Scouts of Louisiana East fought back against the issue saying that the House of Ways and Mean was showing preferential treatment to the Boy Scouts of Louisiana after their application for possible funding was approved.

The $850,000 project to fix the Girls Scouts of Louisiana East’s camp in Tangipahoa was added to House Bill 2 Monday for consideration of funding.
