Man arrested, accused of attempted burglary of Jeanerette business

The Jeanerette Police Department has arrested a man in connection with the attempted burglary of a local business. 

Police arrested 29-year-old Curtis Picard on charges of attempted simple burglary and possession of a firearm. On Tuesday, April 24, 2018, officers were called to the Smoke and Go tobacco store after an alarm was activated. 

According to police reports that 29-year-old  Curtis Picard, attempted to enter the store by firing a small handgun into the glass of the business.  At the time of the arrest, officers learned that Picard also had actives warrants out. 

Picard was booked on Attempted simple burglary and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
