The Acadia Parish Crime Stoppers is asking for help from the public solving a homicide.

Acadia Parish Sheriff’s deputies responded to a vehicle crash Sunday around 3:00 am and discovered Darrell Singleton, 31, of Breaux Bridge, dead inside his vehicle, which had veered off the side of the roadway, Sheriff Gibson says.

Deputies say Singleton had been shot.

Investigators believe the circumstances leading up to the shooting may have started in another parish, but they say gunshots were heard near the Duson exit as the victim headed west.

Sheriff Gibson says there are no suspects at this time.

If you have any information about this shooting, call the sheriff’s office at 788-8772 or Acadia Parish Crime Stoppers at 789-TIPS.
