Some local high school students got to try out a surgical robot today.
Through a partnership with local surgeons, Dr. Uyen Chu and Dr. Jim Garcelon, Ascension Episcopal School Upper School students were allowed a unique, hands-on experience with the Divinci Robot and learn the most up to date surgical techniques.
The demonstration took place at the school’s Sugar Mill Pond campus today.
Dr. Chu and Dr. Garcelon are surgeons with Lourdes Physican Group in Lafayette. The Divinic Robot is a product of Intuitive Surgical.
