Local artists and cultural trailblazers are being celebrated at the 2nd annual ICON awards Thursday night in Lafayette.

Tonight, ten awards will be given to individuals and groups whose contributions have made an impact on the Acadiana community through Arts, Business, and Culture.

Individuals including Philip Gould, Sonny Landreth, Junior League of Lafayette and the late D.L. Menard will be honored tonight. For more on those being celebrated tonight, click here.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the ABC Fund at Community Foundation of Acadiana. That fund, according to organizers, helps create and sustain an endowment to support arts, business, and culture.

"This event is an important opportunity for our community to showcase the artists and pioneers who contribute so much to our unique local culture," said Cathi Pavy, Chair of the Advisory Board of the ABC Fund. "Because this culture is one of our most valuable economic assets, supporting the arts is truly an investment in our future." ‘

The ICON Awards will be held at the Acadiana Center for the Arts starting at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2018.

Only a few tickets are still available at www.AcadianaCenterforTheArts.org.
