The Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Department says they have arrested two suspects wanted in connection with an alleged burglary in Iowa.

Deputies say they were called to a business located on 19110 North Frontage Road in Iowa on April 6 in reference to an alleged burglary. Witnesses told deputies that two male suspects had been seen near the business and that the truck they drove off in was located near the business as well.

After an investigation, deputies say the truck was located on Hwy 101 and a traffic stop was conducted. During the stop, deputies say a large amount of copper wire was found in the back of the truck. Deputies identified the driver of the vehicle as 57-year-old David Simon and the passenger at 59-year-old Dwayne Bazinet. Deputies say that upon questioning Simon admitted that he and Bazinet had entered the business and removed the copper wire.

The two were arrested and booked into the Jefferson Davis Parish jail.
