The 21st annual LPSS Superintendent’s Scholarship Golf Tournament was held at the Farm d’Allie Golf Club in Carencro.

Over 100 players came out on Monday to participate in the tournament all proceeds go to fund scholarships for graduating seniors in Lafayette Parish.

Tee time started at 12:00 p.m.

Officials say the scholarship helps to defray the cost of post-secondary education for the first two semesters for graduates who show academic potential, a desire to succeed, and who have financial need.

Since 1997, over $420,000 has been raised for Lafayette Parish public school students.

"This year was phenomenal, we have over 110 players out here today which almost makes us backed up with getting everyone playing golf, but it’s just wonderful seeing that many men and women out here playing golf for our students," said Chief Academic Officer Annette Samece.
