Opelousas police have identified the victim who was shot to death overnight.
Ricky Freeman was found dead in the street at the intersection of Railroad Avenue and Common Street at 3:36 a.m., police say.
Freeman suffered one gunshot wound to the chest.
Police did not say if any arrests have been made in the case.
