One person was transported to the hospital for minor burns and smoke inhalation after their home in Lawtell caught fire this afternoon.
A spokesman with the Lawtell Fire Department says firefighters responded to the fire on Hwy. 190 East, also known as Prejean Hwy.
The spokesman says firefighters were able to bring the fire under control at 12:36 p.m.
Firefighters continue to investigate the cause.
