Cajun Navy Relief will hold its first Search and Rescue Games on Saturday, April 7 at Henderson Bay in St. Martin Parish.
The games will operate as a simulated training exercise that, according to Cajun Navy Relief, will implement software used during real natural disaster rescue missions and train dispatchers and teams in how to locate those in need of help.
Organizers say the planning for the event has been happening for months and that the simulation training will better prepare teams for when natural disasters occur.
Registration for the event will begin at 7:00 am at the Henderson Bay Boat Launch located on I-10 at the Butte Larose exit.
