A training session was held Tuesday morning at J. Wallace James Elementary in Lafayette for police and emergency personnel.
The training was described by police as an “Active Threat Response” training and will include Lafayette, Scott, Broussard, Youngsville, Carencro and UL Lafayette Police Departments. The Lafayette Fire Department and Acadian Ambulance service are also taking part in the training.
The training began at 8:00 am. The Lafayette Police department says that training will mimic the response of multiple agencies to the scene of a threat.
