A 37-year-old man was arrested Wednesday on a warrant out of Lafayette for indecent behavior with a juvenile, according to the Lafayette arrest report.

Kevin Williams, of Houston, was booked into the Lafayette Parish Jail, and his bond was set at $50,000.

According to a website of a home school sports program in Houston, Williams has been the boys' basketball coach since October of 2019. In his biography, it states he previously worked Lafayette Renaissance Charter Academy.

We reached out to LRCA, but they told us they would not be commenting on the incident, but one viewer sent KATC a statment she received from the school.

"We have been advised that a former hourly teacher has been arrested for inappropriate behavior with a former student," an administrative assistant at the school writes. "We believe this was an isolated incident and no other students were involved." They also indicate they are working with law enforcement on the investigation.

Lafayette Police could only confirm the arrest was made, and the incident happened within city limits. They would not indicate whether Williams was employed at the school at the time of the incident or whether the student was enrolled at the school at the time of the incident.
