Improvements are in the works for downtown Broussard and concerns have come up. But at next's weeks meeting, everyone will get a chance to share their vision for new developments.

"Everyone wants to live in a beautiful city and it's important that our administration focuses on those simple things because it's part of the quality of life," says Broussard Mayor Ray Bourque.

Mayor Bourque says now is the perfect time to make infrastructure improvements, and their first phase of the revitalization plan is a new four-story 30-unit condo building.

Bourque explains, "Improving our downtown area is really important because it's the center of Broussard and this means a lot to our community because old Broussard started here."

The mayor says the public has been vocal about things they see as 'needs' in the plan.

Bourque adds, "Some things that have been identified is the need for more public parking downtown. The request from many people is about being able to come to downtown and not just come and go, but to be able to find business here that they can stay and spend time in downtown."

And the city leaders are making sure everyone's voices are heard.

"Seeking public input and finding out what our citizens, business owners, and property owners along downtown Broussard is an important part of our planning," says Mayor Bourque.

The public meeting will be held Monday, March 2nd, at The Ballroom of Broussard at 5:30 p.m.
