UPDATE: Bar Crawl Unlimited responded to KATC's email inquiries. Read that story here.

Some KATC viewers tell us they worry their plans are on the rocks this weekend. The plans are to attend a Margarita Crawl in Downtown Lafayette. The Facebook page shows hundreds of people are going. Tickets were non-refundable and cost $20.00 each.

It's organized by a company called Bar Crawl Unlimited out of Arizona. The event listed The Wurst Biergarten as the host of the event.

The confusion started with this Facebook post (below) by The Wurst Biergarten. The owner told KATC they never agreed to 'host' the event, or feature the specials being advertised. The event page continued to advertise The Wurst Biergarten as the host. Many customers quickly saw this and wanted their money back. Now, restaurants haven't been able to get in touch with the organizer and customers are asking if the event is even legitimate.

"We're still going to go. I wouldn't mind getting my $40.00 back, but that isn't going to happen, I tried" Chris Faulk said.

Faulk is one of many who reached out to KATC. He bought a ticket ahead of time through Eventbrite to the Margarita Crawl, but now worries he's been scammed.

"You contact Eventbrite, and they just say contact the organizer, but they don't respond," Faulk said.

This isn't the first time Faulk went to a fake bar crawl. He says months ago his friend bought tickets to one in New Orleans.

"When we got to the host bar, they had no idea they were even apart of a crawl, so we were left trying to figure out what to do," Faulk explained.

KATC's Katie Easterasked Faulk why, if it was the same company, he purchased tickets a second time.

"I just forgot, it was months ago," Faulk said.

Restaurants listed as participants say they will only give the deals to those wearing the wristband. The Wurst Biergarten owner says the organizer was supposed to be in town Thursday evening, but did not show up. La Carretta says the organizer was supposed to be there Friday at 6:30 pm, but as of closing time, nobody had showed up.

We reached out to the company via email, phone, and Facebook. We received this response:

Good evening, the event will still be taking place and we will be updating our event page with our updated host venue shortly so please keep checking back. Thank you for the support!

A quick google search and you'll find the company does have an 'F' rating from the Better Business Bureau.
