Girl Scouts honor accomplishments of local women

Girl Scouts of Louisiana - Pines to the Gulf will hold its annual Women of Distinction Luncheon.

The luncheon honored nine prominent women and Girl Scouts from the local area, showcasing their accomplishments, community involvement and commitment for advocacy of girl empowerment.

Honorees include: Valerie Gotch Garrett, attorney with Valerie Gotch Garrett APLC, Jammie Parbhoo, realtor with Van Eaton and Romero, Corleen Aucion Rouly, CEO/executive director of United Way of Iberia, Inc., Patricia Frilot Cottonham, vice president of student affairs at University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Skyra Rideaux, assistant to Mayor-President Joel Robideaux, Stephanie Bennett, academy director/teacher at Acadiana High School Academy of Business, Carlee Alm-LaBar, candidate for mayor-president of Lafayette Consolidated Government, Dr. Maria Doucet, board certified otolaryngology head and neck surgeon at Doucet ENT, Nicole Broussard, CPA/manager at Kolder, Slaven & Company, LLC.

Additionally, Girl Scouts to be honored are: Calyn Lammano, Gold Award recipient, Alyssa Bertrand, Gold Award recipient, Zoey Lombard, Girl Scout senior, Isabella Macha, Girl Scouts senior.
