As Lafayette Parish students get ready to head back to school this week, some parents are running into questions with transportation.
In the Lafayette Parish School System, there are more than 200 bus routes, so there can be some bumps in the road. "There's a little confusion every year, but I think every year gets better and better, " Chief Administrative Officer Jennifer Gardner said. "The main question we're getting asked right now is that they can't find a bus number that goes with their address."
Gardner says some of the potential issues can be addressed with the individual schools.
"Some of it has to do is that the child is not tagged in the system and that's done at a school level," Gardner said. "So what they'll do is they'll call the school and have the school tag them as a bus rider. Then 24 hours later is when it will update in the system."
Parents can get information and bus driver's phone numbers on LPSS's website.
