With students back in school, high school seniors are looking ahead to graduation next spring and their college careers.
The Eta Chi Omega chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority is doing its part to help seniors by raising money for scholarships. Felicia Sutton Washington and Dr. Marilyn Marshall sat down with our Dave Baker to tell us more about their fundraiser.
On Sunday, September 1, the sorority is hosting their 5th annual "Pink Pizzazz" Jazz and Zydeco Brunch. It will be held at the UL Lafayette Student Union Ballroom from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Along with food and beverages, the brunch will also feature music by the Bunk Johnson Brazz Band and by Dr. Boogie Live. This event is a major fundraiser for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated- Eta Chi Omega Chapter, to provide scholarships to students and fund other community service projects.
Tickets for the Jazz and Zydeco Brunch are $40 and can be purchased on Eventbrite.
