Attempting to find the perfect house plant isn't always difficult.

Keeping those plants alive once you've brought them home, however, is another adventure altogether.

Luckily for the "not-so-plant-savvy" there's an app for that.

It's called Plant Snap, and it ensures that those plant babies get all the love and care they need.

Once you've downloaded the app, simply open and use the camera to take a snap of your plant.

When you point the lens at your plant, click the circle that has most of the plant in it. The app will search its database to identify your plant and provide the most likely care options.

Non-flowering plants, like a cactus for example, may take some time for the app detect.

In that case, photos can be uploaded from your camera roll to the app.

Once you come across your plant's species, you can read all about it and learn exactly what conditions it needs to thrive.

Plants can be saved for future reference in the app's "My Collection" section and re-visit them whenever you need.

The app provides links to purchase seeds for users interested in growing their own plants as well.
