Laine Hardy’s “hometown visit” kicks off with stop at governor’s mansion

Laine Hardy, the American Idol finalist from Livingston Parish, kicked off his hometown visit by meeting with Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards. The meeting this morning is just one part of his visit which includes a hometown parade and performance.

The visit is a tradition for the finalists on the show.

During the meeting, Edwards declared Tuesday, May 14, 2019, as Laine Hardy Day!

Hardy was elected to the final three on last Sunday’s program. To read more, click here. The competition continues with the Top 3 vying for votes and the crown on the season finale of American Idol this Sunday, May 19.

KATC’s Abby Breidenbach was LIVE this morning as fans gathered outside of the Governor’s mansion to see Hardy meet with the governor.

Hardy will end out his day with a parade beginning at 5:15 pm at the Livingston Post Office located at 29728 S. Frost and ending at the Livingston Parish Fairgrounds with a free concert at 6:30 pm.
