The St. Landry Parish Cattlemen’s Association will hold their 34th annual Here’s the Beef cook-off on Saturday, February 23, 2019, in Opelousas.
The cook-off begins at 8:30 am with the trail ride. The ride is 10 miles long and will include food provided by the St. Landry Parish Cattleman’s Association. The trail ride cost $15. A cattle dog exhibition begins at 12:00 pm.
Entries for the cookoff will fall into seven categories. Those include gourmet, Brisket, Roast, Tongue, Ground Meat, Stew or Rice & Gravy, along with a Miscellaneous category.
The event will take place at the St. Landry Parish Ag Arena on Hwy 190 West behind the Yambilee Building.
A portion of the proceeds from the cookoff will go to benefit The Lion’s Club of Opelousas.
