Carnival season is underway and krewes across Acadiana are getting ready to celebrate with their annual balls.
KATC’s Abby Breidenbach was LIVE at the Cajundome Convention Center with the Krewe of Carnivale en Rio.
The krewe will hold their ball on Saturday, January 12 at the Cajundome Convention Center. Rio is the first ball of the season in Lafayette and will be celebrating with the theme of “Rio’s Close Encounters.”
Aliens of all types have descended upon South Louisiana and have brought the party with them.
The party begins at 8:00 pm and continues until 1:00 am.
Tickets are still available for those who would like to attend and take in the spectacle. Those tickets can be purchased from Rio members.
