The TECHE Project will hold the 7th Annual “Shake Your Trail Feather” Festival on Saturday at Parc des Ponts in Breaux Bridge.
KATC’s Abby Breidenbach was down at the river this morning with more information on the event.
The event, according to organizers, is a celebration of the Bayou Teche Paddle Trail which is the first National Water Trail in Louisiana. The event is free to attend and includes bike rides, paddle trips, a kayak raffle, and the Best “Bayou Bird” Costume Contest. Festival pins will also be sold with all proceeds going to support the TECHE Project.
The festival kicks off at 11:00 am, but beginning at 9:30 am festival goers can participate in the bike ride or “Paddle to the Party” starting at Poches Country Club. The group will make their way from Poches by bike or by boat down to the park in time for the start of the festival. For information on the bike and paddle trips contact, firstname.lastname@example.org.
Discussion on water level management and recreational opportunities on the Bayou Teche will also be held during the festival.
Entertainment will be provided by Stop the Clock, Sweet Cecilia, and Cedryl Ballou & the Zydeco Trendsetters.
