The 5th Annual Chitimacha Powwow will take place at the Pavilion at Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel on Saturday, October 20, 2018 | Doors Open: 11 a.m. Events ends: 10 p.m. $5 at the door or in advance at Bizzute’s Gift Shop at Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel (children 5 and under are free). If you have never been to a powwow this a great powwow to attend! Louisiana Public Broadcasting will screen several Native American films at 4:30 p.m. during the competition dancing break. Immediately following the screening, Patrick Moore of the Pawnee and Otoe tribes and Tonya Moore of the Cheyenne and Arapahoe tribes will play host an introduction to powwow.
