Another parish is headed back to school today. Jeff Davis students and teachers will start the 2018-2019 school year this morning rounding out the week for those Acadiana parishes headed back to school.

Last year Jeff Davis Parish schools achieved something they’ve been working toward for years. They finally became an “A” school district. Superintendent Kirk Creduer says it’s great news for the district, but there will be a lot of work in store this year to keep that status.

KATC’s Katie Lopez was LIVE at Welsh High School for a look at the school year to come.

Lafayette, Iberia, Acadia, and St. Mary Parishes returned to school on Wednesday. Students in Evangeline, St. Landry and Vermilion welcomed their first days on Thursday.

St. Martin Parish will send their students back to school on Tuesday, August 14.
